Wall Hanging No. 50

A handmade, hand-painted flat ceramic wall hanging repaired in a Kintsugi-style of mending. This piece was originally cracked in three pieces, and the gold Kintsugi-style of joining the pieces with gold makes a more beautiful object through the acts of breaking and repair. 

This wall hanging is made from a porcelain clay body with strips of speckled stoneware inlaid on the clay's surface. Each stoneware strip of inlaid clay has various spots of colorful glazes in a repetitive, but organic striped pattern across the surface of the wall hanging. There are two holes at the top to assist in hanging it on the wall. 

This piece is heavy and approximately 13" wide by 16" long by 3/8" thick.
